Our GRSP student, Vitoria, a chemical engineering major, shared her experience with us and these were some of her featured highlights:
  • She was 1 of 42 GRSP students from all over the world based in Georgia
  • THANKSGIVING!
  • She learned programming as part of her job as an IT Student Technician
  • TURKEY!
  • She was involved in Rotaract as one of the coordinators and is excited that they're trying to start an Interact club here
  • GIVING THANKS!
  • She also served as an Event Coordinator for the International Student Organization and enjoyed learning the different cultures
  • STUFFING/DRESSING!
  • She had fun celebrating different holidays not observed in Brazil. Thanksgiving is her favorite and she also wants Savannahians to never compare Savannah's St. Patrick's Day to Brazil's Carnival.  "It's definitely not like Carnival."
  • Cue Taylor Swift's "I don't know about you, but I'm feeling 22" because Vitoria did turn 22 in March!
  • APPLE PIE!!
  • What's next?  Vitoria plans on heading back to Brazil next month.  She'll graduate in 2 years and will try to get an internship here in the US, as well as her Masters.  She was diggin' Boston!
  • Vitoria's advice to upcoming GRSP students?  "Be open to what comes.  Don't come with high expectations. Learn new things."
