  • DJ Spisso bragged about Savannah Spirit, the newest for-profit franchise to join the Women's Premier Soccer League.  The team will kick off its inaugural season in WPSL this coming May. They're currently looking for Game Day Ambassadors and sponsorships! Send DJ an email if you're interested.
  • Jenny Woodruff bragged about Savannah Music Festival's new SMF Local Partner initiative.  For $150, you'll receive a decal to display at your business identifying you as a partner in the community. Local Partners may offer discounts or specials at their discretion to SMF patrons. When posting to social media, use #SMFLocalPartner and SMF will share your offers with their social media community too. In addition, you'll be listed in the printed version of the official festival program and on the SMF website. Do it by Feb 28th!
  • Julie Wade came with checks ready to support our 2 Metrotarians running for local offices!  We know one is Denise Grabowski as she runs for Savannah-Chatham County School Board District 1 (taking over Julie's seat) and we're waiting for our other mystery Metrotarian to announce his/her running!  Julie urged everyone to donate financially to their campaigns for support as elections have become more contested and more expensive - so support your fellow Metrotarians!
  • Cindy Mullaly bragged on SCAD's upcoming event on Valentine's Day - Feb 14, 4 PM at Arnold Hall Theater - Savannah Women of Vision, commemorating women of peerless valor, altruism, and intellect. This year, the honorees include Clermont Huger Lee (one of the first women to lead a landscape architecture practice in Georgia and was the foremost expert in recreating historic landscapes in mid-20th century Savannah) and Suzanne Shank (a lauded veteran of the investment banking industry and chairwoman, CEO, and founding owner of Siebert Williams Shank & Co.).  Check out these women and details on the event here.
  • Cecilia Arango along with several of her peers in the A/E/C industry are starting a book club focusing on leadership called Literary Leaders.  The first book club discussion takes place on Thurs, April 2, 5 PM at Southbound Brewing.  Pick up a copy of Simon Sinek's Start With Why and join the discussion.
  • Chris DeLeon bragged on the Southeastern District Georgia Dental Association's Give Kids a Smile event happening across GA! Dentists provided free dental care for children on Fri, Feb 7th at Savannah Tech's Eckburg Auditorium. The volunteer initiative takes place each February in conjunction with Children's Dental Health Month and provides dental screenings, treatment, and education at no charge to underserved children in GA.
